Unitarian Universalist congregations are self-governed with each establishing their own governing structure, hiring their own ministers and owning their own individual assets. This governance is based upon UUCA’s Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws. and is enforced by the Board of Trustees and Senior Minister.

UUCA Policies
The Board Policy Manual contains the policies the Board has established to direct and supervise the church. These policies provide guidance on oversight responsibilities, expectations for staff, and steps for how the congregation can fulfill the mission statement: Come for Community, Find Inspiration, and Live with Purpose.

Task Forces
Task forces are created to address specific issues within the Congregation, including a post pandemic Campus Reopening Task Force, social justice team, etc.

- The Board meetings are 7 pm-9:30pm on the fourth Tuesday of every month.
- The first fifteen minutes are open to outside attendees’ comments and then proceed with the agenda. Attendees are welcome to stay for the remainder of the meeting, unless the Board moves into an executive session.

The Nominating Committee (NomCom)…
- Composes a slate of nominees for the Board, UUCA’s Officers, and the Nominating Committee
- Recommends the Delegates to UUA’s General Assembly
- Interviews and recommends candidates for ad hoc committees such as the Ministerial Search Committee.
- Works to create a culture that empowers all to engage in volunteer leadership positions
